Adhesive Applications aim higher
Adhesive
Applications, the Lichfield-based specialists in industrial adhesives,
have just solved a problem for Lyalvale Express, the company that makes
Olympic-winning shotgun cartridges . The challenge related to the packaging
of the cartridges - the company found that on the top flap of the boxes,
the viscosity of the adhesive was too low, and the setting time too long.
The nett result was that the adhesive was flowing onto the cartridges
and bonding them together. Moreover, the bottom flap was also causing
problems in a similar way, only here the effect was to bond the box of
cartridges onto the bottom of the packing case.
Adhesive Applications worked with a key UK player in the formulation
of PVA adhesive and has come up with an answer which has put an immediate
and effective stop to these problems.
"That is what we do, use almost 30 years of experience in the adhesives
business to solve problems quickly, quietly and efficiently" said
Paul Dancer, Adhesive Applications managing director.

Adhesive Applications solves problem at Shotgun Cartridge manufacturer.
Lyalvale Express (the only British Cartridge Manufacturer to win a gold medal at the Olympics, with Richard Faulds) contacted Adhesive Applications as they had a problem in the packing section on a cartridge manufacturing machine.

The cartridge boxes of 25 cartridges have a flap top & bottom, the viscosity of the adhesive was too low and the setting time too long.
This was causing the adhesive to flow from the top flap into the box, bonding the cartridges together and from the bottom flap on to the case the boxes were packed into, effectively bonding the box to the case.
Working together with a major U.K. formulator of PVA adhesive, the situation is resolved, much to the pleasure of Lyalvale Express.

Problem Solved.
A Company with a major bonding
problem recently contacted Adhesive Applications.
They had to securely join a Synthetic Rubber to a heavily filled plastic
moulding, in an assembled situation.
Just to make the challenge interesting the rubber also had a mould
release agent on the surface.
This Company had contacted a number of well known Adhesive suppliers who
had turned the application down.
Working with a number of
adhesive suppliers and distributors, we narrowed the options to an
adhesive supplied by Cyberbond of Barry this was a great success, passed all
quality tests and the customer was overjoyed.
Project management.
We are currently involved in the project management of two exciting
products, one involves pressure sensitive adhesive and the other a dry
hot melt coating.
